Rustic Themed Wedding Flowers at Paintworks
So, Here’s the thought process behind our latest wedding flowers at Paintworks, Bristol…Think Paintworks…think…trendy urban/industrial chic re-development in the heart of metropolitan Bristol…Think Design & Marketing company offices with the obligatory rows of Apple i-macs…Enter The Wilde Bunch Team with a plan to transform The Paintworks Event Space (the shell of a Victorian warehouse) into a magical, fern-filled ‘Woodland’ oasis for the wedding of Maria & Joel…Utter Madness!!…Well No… right from the start we knew there was an element of this design that was completely ‘At One’ with the Victorian history of The Paintworks site.…
Thankfully, the Paintworks Event Space in the ‘Creative Quarter’ of Bristol is possibly the most versatile Wedding Venue in the South West. What you have is a stripped out Victorian warehouse…creating a blank canvas with loads of space and lots of height.
Maria & Joel called upon the services of Virginias Vintage Hire from Devon to supply the tables…Brilliant…we’ve worked with them before and knew in advance their rustic trestle tables were spot on for our designs & ‘Styling’ vision…They look stunning. They also supplied antique cast iron urns…beautiful…original…and incredibly heavy. They say ‘feel the weight know the class’…well these were well and truly ‘Classic’ examples of their genre!!
On the eve of the wedding the entire Wilde Bunch Team were busy ‘stringing’ 300m of fern garlands to create an overhead matrix across the entire warehouse…The key to the ‘woodland’ part of the design…It also ‘lowered’ the high ceilings and with lights running through added to the ‘magic’ of the design.
The combined results of our ‘Rustic Styling’ and floral designs and Virginias trestle tables & props came together perfectly. And…when you step back and think about it…Why wouldn’t they? We were designing in a building that was at the heart of Victorian, Industrial Bristol…so using rusted cast iron urns, an antique Victorian stand for the table plan, stripped wooden trestle tables and lanterns was perhaps more in keeping to the history of The Paintworks site than rows of Apple i-macs…
The overall design showed that you should never be afraid to mix the old with the new in a wedding theme…we created our own little ‘oasis’ and a nod to the past in what is now the trendiest ‘Urban Chic’ part of the City…
And, when we return to design at Paintworks again, who knows what we will do next…maybe something from our most contemporary of wedding designs…it’s a great space that can accommodate any wedding theme and we look forward to the next time…
…’Expect The Unexpected…Wedding flowers Beyond Your wildest Dreams…’
